When I applied to go to college, the only application that I sent in was for Michigan State University. I could have gone elsewhere, but I had no desire to do so. Everything about MSU is perfect.
In high school, I took AP, honors, and advanced mathematics courses, on top of participating in athletics and volunteering. If you want to be academically challenged, and enjoy your time in college, all while working towards a degree recognized around the world, Michigan State University is a place that you should seriously consider.

If you have a 3.5 and 1800+ you're set, but realistically you have a good shot as long as you keep up solid grades and get above a 1700 or 24 act.
Apply early in the year, especially if you want to go to a residential college as they're first come first serve, with no separate admissions requirements.

Maintain a decent GPA in high school (3.2+). If you are a transfer make sure you have already taken a math, science, and english course... this will increase your chances of getting in.

If you have a high gpa (3.8ish) and a low ACT score (21) then you will get in. I know people who have gotten in with a 3.3, but then again I also know people who didn't with a 3.2, so it depends. For me I had a 3.8 and a 29 ACT score. This got me in, but I just missed the honors college. If you have a 3.8 and a 31 ACT or a 4.0 and a 30 ACT you will probably get into the honors college. The average is a 3.5ish and a 24 ACT or something like that.
